One of my aims as a remedial massage therapist is to educate my clients on the many benefits of regular, consistent massage and the importance of self-care. Regular massage can make positive changes to posture, flexibility, muscle health, reduce pain and induce an overall sense of well-being.
Many people don’t know that they can feel better.
The body’s soft tissues can adapt over time to postural imbalances or changes due to injury or tight muscles. These adaptations cannot be altered in the long term with one-off treatments. It took time for these patterns to develop and it will take time to undo them. These adaptations become the body’s new ‘normal’ and the body will easily revert back to this state without encouragement. With regular massage, positive changes are initiated and these changes can become easier to maintain, instead of reverting back to the pre-treatment way of being. Ideally 3 to 4 weekly sessions will get you feeling better. Once these changes are stabilising, then monthly sessions are great to maintain the positive changes established.
Yes, a one-off treatment can do wonders-I’m sure you’ve experienced that.
Imagine what regular massage can do for you!
